(MyGOSSCON 2012)

MyGOSS 2012 Award is an award initiated by the Malaysian Public Sector Open Source Competency Center (OSCC), Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU). MyGOSS Award will be awarded to recognise and acknowledge organisations in their efforts in developing and implementing Open Source Software (OSS) that promotes the service excellence and effective use of ICT. MyGOSS Award is organised by the MAMPU, Prime Minister's Department.

This award is opened to all agencies and organisations in the Malaysian Public Sector.

Selection of winners and the prize giving ceremony will be held during MyGOSSCON 2012.

The objectives of the award are to:

  1. Evaluate the usage of OSS in organisation that increase organisations' performance, effectiveness, innovation and productivity.
  2. Give recognition and acknowledgement to successful agencies for their efforts, creativity and initiative by using OSS.
  3. Profiling the implementation of OSS through knowledge sharing by benchmarking.
  4. To create positive competition  among agencies using OSS towards competent and quality service delivery.

Winners of the MyGOSS 2012 Award will receive:

First Prize

  • Cash prize of RM5,000.00, a trophy and Certificate of Participation. The agency is allowed to use MyGOSS logo and print the following statement "Champion for the MyGOSS 2012".

Second Prize

  • Cash prize of RM3,000.00 and Certificate of Participation.

Third Prize

  • Cash prize of RM2,000.00 and Certificate of Participation.

Fourth Prize

  • Cash prize of RM1,000.00 and Certificate of Participation.

Fifth Prize

  • Cash prize of RM500.00 and Certificate of Participation.

Sixth to Tenth Prize

  • Certificate of Participation.

Prizes Giving Ceremony during MyGOSSCON 2012

The following is the requirements for MyGOSS 2012 Award nomination submissions :

  1. Nominations are only opened to the Malaysian Public Sectors which have successfully developed, used and implemented Open Source Solutions
  2. Have used OSS in its operations for at least one (1) year from the nomination date
  3. Has no serious misuse reports towards government regulations, circulars or acts against implementation of solutions
  4. Each agency may submit more than one nomination.  All reports must be original and free of copyrights.
  5. The First, Second and Third Winners from previous years, is prohibited to participate in this award and will only be able to participate if the entry is more than three years and has made some improvements of the project.
  6. Agencies that did not win in previous participation,  are allowed  to participate and can resubmit previous projects provided that improvements are made.
  7. Results of the judging panel is final and no protests will be entertained. The organizer reserves the right to amend any rules and regulations if necessary without informing the participants.

About Us

MyGOSSCON 2012 Conference is an annual event and this year is the 6th year of the event. The event is organized for all who are interested with the development and implementation of Open Source Software (OSS).
